What is cyber insurance?

Cyber insurance can pay defined first-party response costs and third-party liabilities after a covered event such as a data breach or network attack. It complements—not replaces—security controls. Underwriters commonly examine MFA, backups, patching, endpoint security, vendor access and incident-response readiness.

Plain-language guide

Important terminology with examples
